Singapore offers a range of training support schemes that may help reduce your out-of-pocket course fees—depending on your eligibility and whether your chosen course/provider is approved under a specific scheme.
Whether you’re self-sponsoring, using SkillsFuture support, or exploring employer sponsorship, our team can help you understand what to check and plan your next steps (SGT / UTC+8).
SkillsFuture Credit can be used by eligible Singapore Citizens to offset out-of-pocket fees for eligible courses listed on the MySkillsFuture portal. The scheme includes the Opening Credit (for eligible citizens) and the Mid-Career Credit for Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above (amounts, eligible courses and rules may change over time).
SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) provides course fee subsidies for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs on SSG-supported certifiable courses. Subsidy levels depend on residency and course type, and self-sponsored learners typically need to meet scheme requirements.
MCES provides enhanced course fee subsidies for eligible Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above on top of base MOE/SSG subsidies—applicable to SSG-supported certifiable courses (higher support levels may apply, subject to scheme terms).
Eligible NTUC members may be able to claim UTAP (or UTAP-Lite) to offset part of the unfunded course fees for UTAP-supported courses. Eligibility criteria apply, including membership status and course requirements (e.g., attendance and completion).
The Workfare Skills Support (WSS) Scheme supports eligible lower-wage workers with training-related support such as a training allowance and training commitment award, and can also provide Absentee Payroll support for sponsoring employers—subject to course and eligibility criteria.
SCTP is a train-and-place programme that supports mid-career individuals in acquiring industry-relevant skills to improve employability and pivot to new sectors or job roles. It is available in part-time or full-time formats and typically ranges from 3 to 12 months (course eligibility and outcomes vary).
Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above may qualify for the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance for approved full-time training, to help support living expenses during the training period (terms and conditions apply).
Many employers in Singapore sponsor training through internal L&D budgets. For eligible employers and eligible SSG-funded courses, schemes such as SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) and Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding may help offset out-of-pocket and manpower costs—subject to scheme requirements.
Workforce Singapore’s Career Conversion Programmes provide salary support to employers to reskill mid-career new hires or existing employees into in-demand roles, with higher support for certain profiles (scheme terms apply).
