Depending on your situation, you may be able to fund your training through public employment measures, employer sponsorship, or business vouchers. Here’s how to explore your options and apply.
In Slovenia, training support is typically offered through a mix of public employment programmes and employer-supported initiatives, rather than one single nationwide education voucher.
If you are unemployed or actively seeking work, you may be eligible for training support through the Employment Service of Slovenia (ZRSZ) and related Active Employment Policy measures. If you are employed, your employer may be able to sponsor your upskilling directly or apply for business vouchers (vavčerji) that co-finance training.
Coverage varies by programme. Some schemes may cover training costs fully, while others co-finance part of the tuition. Eligibility, covered expenses, and required documents depend on the specific public call or voucher.
Eligibility depends on the programme you apply through. Common routes in Slovenia include:
If you are unemployed, registered as a jobseeker, or at risk of unemployment, you may be able to access training support through ZRSZ-linked programmes. Availability and requirements depend on the open calls and your individual profile.
Many employers sponsor professional development for in-demand digital roles. Ask your manager or HR team whether upskilling budgets are available for your training.
Some Slovenian Enterprise Fund (SPS) vouchers can co-finance training and upskilling for employees and management (availability depends on the active call and eligibility rules).
Review current options and open calls relevant to your situation (public employment programmes, employer sponsorship, and business vouchers).
If you’re unemployed or a jobseeker: register and speak with an advisor about available training and education measures. You can start exploring via Active Employment Policy information.
If you’re employed: ask your employer if they can sponsor your training directly, or whether they’re eligible to apply for business vouchers. For example, SPS runs voucher calls such as vouchers for building digital competencies (subject to availability and eligibility).
