In Slovakia, the labour offices (ÚPSVaR – Úrad práce, sociálnych vecí a rodiny) can support skills training and retraining through public programmes. One example is the national project “Zručnosti pre trh práce” (“Skills for the Labour Market”), which helps people gain market-relevant skills so they can improve their employability or adapt to changing roles.
Because these programmes are administered through your local labour office, the exact requirements and documents can vary by status and by programme. When you speak with our team, we can provide clear course information (dates, format, workload, and pricing) so you can submit your request with everything your office typically asks for.
Potentially, yes — if your application is approved. For registered job seekers, some programmes can fund course fees in full. For people applying as “záujemca o zamestnanie” (often used for employed applicants who register to upskill), the contribution may differ (for example, full coverage for certain accredited courses or partial coverage in other cases). Your local office will confirm the exact percentage and eligible costs before you start.
Eligibility depends on the specific programme and on your status with ÚPSVaR. As a rule of thumb, you’ll need to be registered with a Slovak labour office before you can request a training contribution.
Applicants are commonly registered either as a job seeker (uchádzač o zamestnanie) or as a “jobseeker” (záujemca o zamestnanie) — the right option depends on whether you’re unemployed, employed, or changing roles.
If you’re registered as an uchádzač o zamestnanie, training support is often used to help you qualify for in-demand roles and re-enter the labour market.
Some programmes also support people who are currently employed but want to build new skills and increase their employability (typically via registration as a záujemca o zamestnanie).
Depending on the rules, labour offices may prioritise disadvantaged applicants (for example: young people, 50+, long-term unemployed, people with disabilities, low formal education, and similar groups).
Choose the bootcamp you want to study (Web Development, Data Science & AI, Cybersecurity, or UX/UI Design).
Book a call with our team — we’ll help you confirm the course details you’ll typically need for your request (start date, format, hours, and tuition).
Register with your local ÚPSVaR as either an uchádzač o zamestnanie or a záujemca o zamestnanie (your office will advise which status applies to you).
Submit your request for a training contribution to ÚPSVaR at least 30 calendar days before the course start date (many programmes won’t accept last-minute requests).
Wait for the labour office decision — funding is approved case by case and is not automatic.
If your request is approved, you’ll sign the required documents with ÚPSVaR and we’ll coordinate the next steps on our side so you can enrol smoothly.
