Chapter 0: Pre-Work

Prior to the official start of our bootcamp and live classes, you will be given access to our online platform and our prework content. This content is meant for you to look at some basics of computer science and programming concepts. Even though the bootcamp will not have started officially, we will be available for you during this time to work together with you on how to lay out a plan for you to master these basics. If you are already interested in learning more cyber security specific concepts, do not worry. During the prework, you learn about the basics of cryptography and historical ciphers.

How you’ll learn

Live online learning

  • Join interactive live sessions where you can ask questions, collaborate with peers, and get feedback in real time. Sessions run in Central European Time (CET/CEST), which is a natural fit for learners based in Luxembourg.

Structured self-study

  • Part-time: 9 hours of live learning + around 11 hours of self-study (20 hours/week total)
  • Full-time: 22.5 hours of live learning + around 17.5 hours of self-study (40 hours/week total)

Flipped classroom approach

  • Prepare with guided materials before class, then use live sessions for discussion, practice, and problem-solving. This keeps learning active and helps you apply concepts faster.

Guided, project-based practice

  • Build skills by doing: exercises, projects, and portfolio work supported by instructors. The aim is steady progress, clear feedback, and practical outcomes you can demonstrate.

What you’ll need

No prior Cyber Security qualification is required. We start with the essentials and build steadily through labs and guided practice, so you can develop confidence even if you’re new to the field. If you’re joining from Luxembourg, live sessions and support are scheduled in CET/CEST, with structured self-study time each week.

  • Laptop or computer: A device capable of running necessary security tools, virtual machines, or other software. Minimum requirements: 16GB RAM, 512GB storage (SSD is preferred), Core i5 CPU or above
  • Stable internet connection: Reliable internet access for live learning sessions, hands-on labs, and assignments.
  • Basic computing knowledge: Understanding of how computers and operating systems function.
  • Basic web knowledge: Familiarity with how the web works, including HTTP, HTTPS, and web browsers.
  • English proficiency: B1 level with the ability to understand technical materials and communicate effectively, as the bootcamp is conducted in English.
  • Commitment to learning: Willingness to dedicate several hours per week for live learning sessions, assignments, and self-study.
