OPZ+ company training, the Czech employer route
The Czech state co-finances employers who train their staff, and for training an employer buys on the open market the provider does not need ministry accreditation. That single difference is what separates this from rekvalifikace, and it is why a course delivered from abroad is a candidate here at all.
Who applies, and what the money is
Operacni program Zamestnanost plus funds company training through calls run by MPSV and the Urad prace, and some calls go through professional or employer associations applying on behalf of their members. The employer applies, chooses the training and the provider, and reclaims a large share of the cost. Its predecessor POVEZ II ran to 85% of the course cost plus wage costs during training, and that is the precedent rather than a current promise: rates are set by each call. The applicant is the company or a self-employed person training themselves, never an employee applying alone, so this is a page to forward to whoever signs off training where you work.
For market training, the provider does not need MŠMT accreditation. The employer justifies the choice of provider instead. This is the key difference from rekvalifikace, where the accreditation gate is the whole obstacle, and it is the reason a provider outside the Czech system can be the one invoicing.
The employer picks the training. There is no catalogue to be listed in for the general company-training calls, so the question is whether the training fits the company's plan rather than whether it fits a register.
The support has historically been substantial. POVEZ II reimbursed up to 85% of the course cost and contributed to wages during training. Current OPZ+ calls set their own rates, so treat 85% as what this family of schemes has done rather than as what yours will get.
Frequently asked questions
Does Code Labs Academy need Czech accreditation for this?
For training an employer buys on the open market under the general company-training calls, no: the employer justifies the choice of provider rather than picking from an accredited list. That is the key difference from rekvalifikace. The caveat is that some OPZ+ calls do restrict eligible training to accredited or database courses, so the call your employer applies under is what decides it.
How much would the company get back?
POVEZ II, the predecessor, ran to 85% of the course cost plus a contribution to wages during training. Current OPZ+ calls set their own rates, so that figure is the precedent for this family of schemes rather than a promise about yours. The call text carries the current numbers.
Can I apply for this myself?
Not as an employee. The applicant is the employer, or a self-employed person applying to train themselves. If you are employed, this page is written to be forwarded to whoever signs off training where you work.
Is there a call open right now?
These run in rounds rather than continuously. POVEZ II ended in 2023 and OPZ+ company-training calls opened in 2025 and 2026, with projects running up to about twenty months. Check MPSV for what is open before planning around it.
What if my employer has never bought training from a foreign provider?
That is a procurement question rather than an eligibility one. We invoice as an EU provider and can supply the programme outline, hours and delivery format that the application needs. If the finance team has a specific format in mind, tell us and we will match it.
