The Swiss education loan that asks nothing about your school
EDUCA SWISS lends from CHF 5,000 at roughly 1.5% to people living in Switzerland, for any course anywhere, with no condition at all on who teaches it. It paused new applications during 2026 when demand outran the foundation's funds; as of 30 August 2026 its own pages carry no such notice and the application route is open. Building the dossier takes six to ten weeks, so the date to work back from is your cohort's.
A loan made to you, not to a school
EDUCA SWISS is a non-profit foundation rather than a bank. You register, work through a free budgeting and coaching process, and if your education plan holds up the foundation matches you with a lender at interest far below consumer credit, from CHF 5,000 upward, repayable during or after the training. There is no age ceiling, no grade requirement, no employment condition, and no rule at all about who teaches the course, which is unusual enough in Switzerland to be worth saying twice: the loan is made to you, so a foreign online bootcamp is financed exactly like a Swiss classroom. Two things decide whether it fits your plan, and neither is your eligibility. The first is time, because the dossier takes six to ten weeks to build and the coaching is a real conversation rather than a form. The second is that it is still debt, and Switzerland happens to offer two ways of lowering the cost of a course that are not: the tax deduction on what you pay yourself, and an employer who buys the training outright. Read the last section before you sign anything.
From CHF 5,000 upward, at around 1.5% on average. The foundation states that no loans are made below CHF 5,000 and that lenders grant them at an average interest of 1.5%, with 3.25% as the upper end. That range covers our programmes squarely, and it is far below Swiss consumer credit.
Repayment can run during or after the training, which is the point of a foundation rather than a bank: the schedule is built around your education plan instead of starting the month after the money lands.
Nothing in it looks at the school. The loan is granted to the learner rather than to a provider, so any course qualifies if the plan is sound, including a foreign online one. There is no register to be on, no accreditation to hold and no geography condition.
The coaching is free and it is the substance, not a formality. The foundation puts it at two to three online conversations of one to two hours, at no cost and with no fees attached. You work through a personal budget and an education plan, and the loan decision follows from that. People who have been through it usually rate the budgeting above the interest saving.
It is still a loan. You repay it with interest, and a plan that only works if the loan is approved is a fragile plan. Compare it against the interest-free instalments further down before you decide, rather than after.

Would it cover a Code Labs Academy course?
Yes, on the terms as published. The loan is made to the learner rather than to a school, from CHF 5,000 upward, and there is no accreditation, recognition or geography condition anywhere in it. Should I take an ordinary bank loan instead?
Compare both against not borrowing first. Our instalment plan spreads the fee over up to 60 monthly payments with no interest and no arrangement fee, so for most people it costs less than any credit product and involves no third party assessing them. If you do compare lenders, the number to hold them to is the total amount repayable rather than the headline rate, and on that measure an EDUCA SWISS loan at around 1.5% is materially cheaper than Swiss consumer credit.
I do not live in Switzerland. Can I use it?
No. You need either a Swiss passport or residence in Switzerland, and that condition is not negotiable, because the foundation exists to fund education for people in the Swiss system.
