Your CPF and a Code Labs Academy course: the straight answer
Your CPF balance cannot pay for a course with us. Mon Compte Formation only lists providers registered in France, certified Qualiopi and attached to a certification registered with France Compétences, all three of which are French domestic requirements. No adviser can work around them. This page explains how the CPF actually works, what your balance can buy elsewhere, and which French routes genuinely finance a career change with us.
What the CPF is, and what its provider rules require
The compte personnel de formation is the most used individual training funding in France, and it is easy to see why: the money is already in your account, the whole process takes a few clicks on moncompteformation.gouv.fr, and nobody has to approve your plan. Each year worked credits EUR 500, or EUR 800 for lower-qualified workers, up to a ceiling of EUR 5,000 (EUR 8,000 in that second case). In practice most balances sit somewhere between EUR 1,000 and EUR 5,000. The account is run by the Caisse des Dépôts, under France Compétences and the Ministry of Labour. Since 2 April 2026 a flat co-payment of EUR 150 per training is left to the user, up from EUR 103.20, under décret no 2026-234 of 30 March 2026; jobseekers and users whose employer tops up the account are exempt. Now the part you came for. Your CPF cannot pay for a Code Labs Academy course. Not in full, not in part, with no exception and no adviser able to unlock it. The reason has nothing to do with what we teach: it is a triple lock on the provider, not on the learner. First, the provider must hold a French numéro de déclaration d'activité (NDA) and Qualiopi certification. Second, the course must prepare a certification registered with France Compétences, in the RNCP or the Répertoire spécifique, either owned by the provider or held by habilitation from the certifier. Third, the course must be published on EDOF, the Mon Compte Formation catalogue. We meet none of the three. Which brings up the objection every reader raises, and it deserves a flat answer: Code Labs Academy is a German company, AZAV-certified in Germany. That certification has no French equivalent, and there is no automatic recognition of training accreditation from one EU country to another. A German label does not convert into Qualiopi, and no counter will make the exchange. That said, a page that only tells you no would be worth nothing to you. Your rights are yours, they do not evaporate and they keep their value: spent on a listed course they buy a real programme, and the French catalogue includes serious providers in development, data and Cybersecurity. If one of them fits your plan, using it is a perfectly sound decision and we will say so happily. If it is us you want, the real question becomes: what finances training in France when the CPF is out of the picture? There are good answers, starting with deducting your training costs from your taxable income, which asks nothing at all of the provider. Every private-sector employee accrues rights automatically. EUR 500 per year worked, EUR 800 for lower-qualified workers, up to a ceiling of EUR 5,000 (EUR 8,000 in that second case). There is nothing to apply for: the credit lands in your account each year.
The account follows the person, not the contract. Your rights survive a change of employer, a spell of unemployment or a career break, and they are not reset. Public servants have their own variant of the scheme, with rights expressed in hours rather than euros.
Jobseekers can spend their balance, and they are exempt from the EUR 150 flat co-payment introduced on 2 April 2026, as are users whose employer tops up the account.
The condition that blocks you here is not about you, it is about the provider. A course can only be bought on the platform if the provider holds a French NDA and Qualiopi, if the course prepares a certification registered with France Compétences, and if it is published on EDOF. All three at once, not two out of three.
Distance learning is not the problem. The catalogue lists plenty of programmes delivered entirely online: format is not the test. A live class taught from Berlin is excluded by exactly the same rule as a classroom course in Brussels, because neither provider is registered in France.
So our courses are not CPF-eligible, and we will not soften that. If a website, a salesperson or a forum post suggests otherwise about us, it is wrong. Whoever you are considering, check that the exact course appears on the platform before you believe anyone.

Can I pay for a Code Labs Academy bootcamp with my CPF?
No. Not partly, not through some arrangement, not by finding the right adviser. For a course to be purchasable on Mon Compte Formation, three conditions have to hold at the same time: the provider holds a French numéro de déclaration d'activité and Qualiopi certification; the course prepares a certification registered with France Compétences, in the RNCP or the Répertoire spécifique, owned or held by habilitation; and the course is published on EDOF, the platform's catalogue. Code Labs Academy meets none of the three. Our courses therefore cannot be listed, and an unlisted course cannot be bought with CPF rights however large your balance is. The April 2026 co-payment reform changes nothing about this. We would rather you read it here than discover it after booking time off.
You are a certified European school. Why does that not count in France?
Because training accreditation is not automatically recognised from one EU member state to another. Code Labs Academy is a German company certified under AZAV, the framework that opens public training funding in Germany. It has no French equivalent, it does not convert into Qualiopi, and there is no procedure for having it recognised by the Caisse des Dépôts or France Compétences. This is national paperwork rather than a judgement on teaching quality, but the paperwork is the rule and it applies. For your CPF rights to reach us, we would have to set up a French entity, obtain an NDA and Qualiopi, and then attach our courses to a registered certification. That is not where we are today.
Can an online course be CPF-eligible at all?
Yes, and this is worth clarifying because the confusion costs people weeks. The Mon Compte Formation catalogue contains many programmes followed entirely at a distance: the delivery format is not the test. The test sits on the provider and the certification prepared. A provider registered in France, Qualiopi-certified and attached to a registered certification can offer a fully online pathway that is perfectly eligible. Conversely a foreign school with no French registration stays ineligible even when it teaches live, with real instructors, fixed hours and graded assessments. So it is not remote delivery that excludes us, it is the absence of French registration.
My balance does not cover the price, or my request goes nowhere. What then?
Two different situations, with two different answers. If you are aiming at a listed course and your balance is short, the platform shows you the remainder: it can be covered by an abondement from your employer or another funder, or paid by you. You cannot borrow against future rights, so if the gap is too wide, a cheaper course or outside funding are the only realistic options. If you are aiming at a course that is not listed, there is nothing to unlock and no appeal to lodge: the CPF simply cannot pay for it, and nobody can make an exception. In that case put the energy into the routes that carry no accreditation condition, starting with the frais réels deduction and employer funding.
I have a CPF balance and I want to study with you. What happens to that money?
Nothing bad. Your rights stay in your account, they keep accruing each year you work up to the ceiling, and you can use them later on a listed course: a complementary certification, a language qualification, a bilan de compétences, a validation des acquis de l'expérience, whatever your path calls for when the time comes. Some of our French learners do both in sequence, training with us and then spending their balance on a recognised French certification in the field they have just learned. There is no need to pick a side, and the French catalogue holds genuinely good options. The one thing not to do is put a career change on hold for months hoping an unlisted course becomes listed.
Will you ever be listed on Mon Compte Formation?
We cannot give you a date or a commitment, and you deserve better than a vague answer on this. Listing would require a French entity with a numéro de déclaration d'activité, a passed Qualiopi audit, and then attachment to a certification registered with France Compétences, owned or held by habilitation from a certifier, before anything is published on EDOF. That is a long regulatory road, and until it is finished the answer stays no. So build your plan on what exists today: the frais réels deduction, employer funding, income support through démission-reconversion if it applies to you, and our interest-free instalments.
