Spread the cost of your bootcamp in the UK

Pay monthly with interest-free instalments made directly to Code Labs Academy, up to 60 payments, or take the discount for paying upfront. If you need the whole fee at once, a fixed-rate UK training loan is the honest last resort, and we explain what to check before you sign one.

What a UK learner can actually use

Most of the funding people search for in the UK is closed to a provider like us, and it is fairer to say that at the top of the page than three scrolls down. Skills Bootcamps, the Lifelong Learning Entitlement, Advanced Learner Loans and the Growth and Skills Levy all run through providers holding UK contracts, Office for Students registration or approved-qualification listings, and a German online school holds none of them. Professional and Career Development Loans, the government-backed route thousands of people still search for, closed to new applicants in 2019 and were never replaced. So this page is about what does exist, in the order we would actually recommend it. The certain option is ours: the fee spread across interest-free monthly instalments, up to 60 payments, made directly to Code Labs Academy, with no credit check and nobody outside this conversation to convince. There is a discount if you pay the full fee upfront instead. Before either of those, ask your employer, because money that is not yours is always the cheapest money. And if you genuinely need the fee as a single lump sum, a UK lender such as Lendwise runs a fixed-rate loan product built for bootcamps and training courses. That last route carries interest, and a caveat we set out plainly below.

Frequently asked questions

Is there any government funding I can put towards a Code Labs Academy course in the UK?

No, and we would rather say so plainly than waste your time. Skills Bootcamps are contracted by the Department for Education to a fixed list of approved providers. Advanced Learner Loans and the Lifelong Learning Entitlement fund regulated qualifications delivered by providers registered with the Office for Students. The Growth and Skills Levy, which replaced the Apprenticeship Levy in April 2026, pays for apprenticeships and courses on the government's own approved list. Those are UK domestic approvals, so that money moves only to providers holding them. Professional and Career Development Loans, the old government-backed route for exactly this kind of course, closed to new applicants in 2019. What is left is your employer's budget, our own instalment plan, the upfront-payment discount, and commercial credit if you need a lump sum.

Will Lendwise lend for a Code Labs Academy course?

We do not know, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. Lendwise is an FCA-regulated lender with a genuine bootcamp and training loan product for UK residents, and its model lets the borrower choose the course. But its career-development pages list particular providers it supports, and an online provider based in Germany is not confirmed among them. We have no partnership with Lendwise, no referral arrangement and no influence over its decisions: treat it as a lender you can approach, not as our finance partner. Ask them in writing whether they will fund an online course delivered from Germany, and apply only once you have an answer. Every approval is theirs alone, subject to affordability and credit checks. One more thing to settle in that same conversation: ask when repayments begin. The advertised study grace period does not apply to part-time or online programmes, and ours are online, so assume the first payment lands straight away unless they tell you otherwise in writing.

What if I am refused, or I do not want a loan at all?

Then take the course anyway on our own instalment plan, which is exactly why it comes first on this page. It is interest-free, spread over up to 60 monthly payments made directly to Code Labs Academy, and there is no credit check to fail and no lender to persuade. If you can pay in full instead, there is a discount for that. If neither works right now, ask your employer, or pick a later intake and save towards it. A refusal from a lender changes your route, not your plan.

Does it matter that the school is German and teaches online?

For the routes we control, not at all. The instalment plan and the upfront discount apply wherever you live, and a UK employer can buy training from any supplier it chooses. For a lender it is their call, which is why we tell you to ask before applying rather than after. Code Labs Academy is certified under AZAV, the German state quality standard for training providers. It carries no legal weight in the UK and no UK funding depends on it, but it is an independent quality check you can point to if a lender or an employer asks who they would be paying.

How does the instalment plan actually work?

You agree a schedule with us before the course starts: the fee split into monthly payments, up to 60 of them, going directly to Code Labs Academy. No interest is added and there is no arrangement fee, and there is no credit application deciding whether you qualify. Where a plan is administered through our education finance partner Quotanda, the terms stay interest-free and are the ones set out in your written schedule. Ask your advisor for that schedule before you enrol, read the payment dates, and keep a copy.

What happens if my circumstances change halfway through?

Tell us early, before a payment is missed, and ask what can be arranged. We cannot promise a particular outcome, but a conversation with the school you are studying at is a very different situation from falling behind on a regulated loan, where missed payments are reported to credit reference agencies and can affect your borrowing for years. That difference is the strongest practical argument for using the interest-free instalments where they cover what you need, and borrowing only for the gap they do not.
