What funding support exists in the UK?
Across the UK, adults can access a mix of government-backed and regional schemes that support training and upskilling – especially if you are unemployed, on a low income, or changing careers. In England, these include programmes such as Skills Bootcamps (free, flexible courses that build sector-specific skills and usually include a guaranteed interview), the Free Courses for Jobs offer for a first full Level 3 qualification, and Advanced Learner Loans that can help cover the cost of eligible Level 3–6 courses at approved colleges and training providers. In Wales, initiatives like the ReAct+ training grant can contribute towards accredited training for people who have recently become unemployed or are under notice of redundancy. Scotland and Northern Ireland also offer their own employability and upskilling schemes, delivered through local colleges, training providers, and careers services.
Each scheme has its own eligibility rules, approved providers, and application process. Code Labs Academy is a private online bootcamp provider, so not every government programme will apply directly to our courses. However, these options can still form part of your wider upskilling journey – for example by funding foundation qualifications or sector-specific learning before, after, or alongside your bootcamp. Our team can help you map out what is realistically available in your nation or region and how it might complement a CLA programme.
Can UK funding cover full tuition?
Some UK schemes can fully fund eligible courses with participating providers – for example, certain Skills Bootcamps or fully funded Level 3 programmes. Others, such as Advanced Learner Loans, can cover 100% of tuition for approved further‑education courses but are repaid later based on your income. Whether your learning is fully or partly funded will depend on your age, where you live, your previous qualifications, and the course you choose. While our bootcamps are not automatically covered by all public schemes, we can help you explore a combined approach that might include government‑funded learning, employer sponsorship, personal savings, and our own discounts and instalment plans.

Our Methodology
Live online learning
- At Code Labs Academy, you’ll learn in interactive live online sessions where you can ask questions in real time, collaborate with peers and get feedback from instructors – helping you build skills faster and with more confidence.
Self study
- Part time: around 9 hours of live learning and 11 hours of self study, totalling 20 hours per week.
- Full time: around 22.5 hours of live learning and 17.5 hours of self study, totalling 40 hours per week.
Flipped classroom method
- Experience a dynamic learning approach with our flipped classroom method, empowering you to learn actively and engage deeply with the bootcamp curriculum.
Guided practice
- Engage in an immersive learning experience where we focus on active participation, hands-on exercises and portfolio building to ensure a solid foundation for your knowledge.
What You’ll Need
You don’t need any prior qualifications in computer science or programming to join our bootcamp. We assume no prior knowledge and will guide you through the basics in the first few weeks, ensuring you build a strong foundation from the ground up. Whether you’re new to the field, looking for a career change or upskilling in your current role, our programme is designed to get you up to speed quickly and confidently.
- Laptop or Computer: A device capable of running necessary security tools, virtual machines or other software. Minimum requirements: 16GB RAM, 512GB storage (SSD preferred), Core i5 CPU or above.
- Stable Internet Connection: Reliable internet access for live learning sessions, hands-on labs and assignments.
- Basic Computing Knowledge: Understanding of how computers and operating systems function.
- Basic Web Knowledge: Familiarity with how the web works, including HTTP, HTTPS and web browsers.
- English Proficiency: B1 level with the ability to understand technical materials and communicate effectively, as the bootcamp is conducted in English.
- Commitment to Learning: Willingness to dedicate several hours per week for live learning sessions, assignments and self-study.
