Canada Training Credit
The Canada Training Credit (CTC) is a federal refundable tax credit that can reimburse part of eligible training fees, up to 50% of qualifying tuition and related costs, based on a credit balance that can accumulate to a lifetime maximum of $5,000. Eligibility depends on factors such as age, income, and whether your course and provider meet Canada Revenue Agency criteria, so be sure to confirm your personal situation with the CRA or a tax professional.
Canada Job Grant & Provincial Employer Training Grants
Across Canada, employers may be able to access Canada Job Grant–style programs and related provincial funding to offset the cost of job-related training from eligible third-party providers. These grants can cover a significant share of tuition and training expenses when an employer sponsors an employee’s upskilling. Availability, funding amounts, and eligible providers vary by province and program, so your employer will need to verify whether your chosen CLA bootcamp can be supported before applying.
Better Jobs Ontario (Selected Learners in Ontario)
Better Jobs Ontario is an application-based provincial grant that can help eligible unemployed or underemployed Ontario residents fund skills training programs of up to two years, including some short, career-focused courses. Depending on your needs, it may contribute toward tuition and certain living costs up to defined limits. Not all bootcamps or training providers qualify, so you must speak with an Employment Ontario office to confirm whether your chosen CLA program can be included before starting an application.
